Degrees: B. A., University of Texas (Austin); Th.M., Dallas Theological Seminary; Doctoral Studies, St. Louis University; Graduate of the U.S. Army Chaplain Center & School, the Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. Career Path: Church planting, 1971-1974; Criswell Bible Institute, 1971- 1974; Chaplain (Colonel), U.S. Army Reserve, 1972 – 2005; Senior Pastor/Director of Christian School, 1974-1979, Theology Digest, St. Louis University, 1979-1980; Faculty, Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, 1980-present.

Research Interests: Old Testament exegesis and interpretation; Old Testament theology; military chaplaincy.

Personal: Married to Coila, a registered nurse for St. Mary’s Mercy Medical Center. The Kennedys have three adult children, Rochelle, Travis and Michael. Hobbies include walking and reading.
