
The Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministries degree develops in a student the competencies essential to the study of biblical and theological literature while also nurturing knowledge and skill in the enactment of ministry leadership in intercultural settings.
The program consists of 65 credit hours and includes a 33-hour Bible and theology core and a 32-hour intercultural ministries specialization. Students intending to pursue doctoral study can replace the eight-credit ministry residency requirement with MIN-584: Thesis Readings and MIN-797: Thesis.
Applicants for this degree program should have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA from an accredited undergraduate institution.

Degree Requirements
GRTS confers the Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministries degree if the student has:
1. Completed 65 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. These 65 hours include a 15-hour Bible core, 17-hour theology core and a 33-hour concentration in intercultural ministries.
2. Achieved at least 33 credits at GRTS if the student transferred to GRTS.
3. Limited advanced standing credit to 10 hours, or one-sixth of the degree program requirements.
4. Limited online and distance education to five courses within the degree program.
5. Demonstrated a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a life pattern of moral character and conduct.
6. Completed all assessments.
7. Participated in entrance, midpoint and exit interviews.
8. Fulfilled all student learning portfolio requirements.
9. Completed successfully the ministry residency or thesis component.
10. Met all financial obligations.
11. Completed all the above requirements within five years of matriculation.
12. Participated in commencement.

Intercultural Ministries Specialization
1. Develop a philosophy and practice of mission that is informed by biblical, theological and cultural perspectives.
2. Demonstrate and facilitate cultural intelligence by seeing the influence of culture upon theological understanding, personal formation and missional engagement.
3. Evaluate and apply traditional and emerging models of intercultural work and ministry.
4. Understand historical and contemporary demonstrations of how the church has related to culture and how the church has engaged in global mission.
5. Serve the global church by continually forming one’s own character, embodying the gospel in both word and deed and partnering with various expressions of the local church all over the world.
