Grand Rapids Theological Seminary provides financial aid to seminary students on both a need and merit basis. For the 2009-2010 school year, 73 percent of students who applied for a scholarship or grant received financial aid.

Eligibility

New students must receive acceptance for admission to GRTS to be eligible for institutional and external scholarships and grants. Returning students must be in good academic standing and register for classes during the registration period. Both new and returning students must complete the following requirements:

1. Submit the Seminary Scholarship Application

2. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)by the priority dates (see below). Cornerstone University’s school code is 002266. Please put this code in Line 6 of the FAFSA.

3. Enroll in a minimum of five credit hours per semester.

*Scholarship recipients must attend the Legacy Luncheon and write a letter to the scholarship donor.

Important Financial Aid Dates

Priority dues dates for new students are as follows:

1.  Fall 2012 -  March 31, 2012

2.  Spring 2013 - November 1, 2012

Note: New students may submit financial aid applications any time before the start of the semester. However, new students will only be eligible for maximum financial aid options if they submit their applications by the priority dates above. Financial Aid will not be processed until after a student has been accepted.

Returning students who want to apply for financial aid must submit their applications by the priority dates and must register for classes within the correct registration period.

If financial aid forms are submitted by priority due dates students will be notified of any financial aid they will receive by mid-June for the fall semester and end of Dec. for the spring semester.
