Captain Jeff Pyun is a 2008 graduate of GRTS. While his family remains in the USA, Jeff is serving Jesus Christ and our combat troops in Iraq. As you pray for Jeff and his family, here is what he writes from the ancient land of the Bible, Babylon, now Baghdad. Jeff writes,
I am doing well and thanks to our God's protection and guidance....things are looking great out here as far as ministry goes. My unit has been out of the country for almost 3 months in about a week or so. Since then I have been continuing to provide 2 Bible studies a week, 2 Sunday worships as well as couple small worships when I visit Alpha Battery (company) during the week days but they are located
elsewhere. Everyone is doing great and upbeat but there are still many prayer requests that can be lifted up to our Provider and Protector.
We have no casualty almost into three months of deployment. We had couple of non-combat related injuries but they are all recovering fast. Lately, many small arms fires and IED's are on the rise and are exploding in our area of operation. This is very concerning to our leaders and I am praying
continuously for their safety every time our soldiers go out on patrols.
Many soldiers are having personal issues...such as: homesickness, anger issues, infidelity, financial issues, family issues, loss of loved ones and other personal issues. Some cannot deal with them and others cope better. I counsel them but some do not open themselves up easily. It is hard for them
to be away from their loved ones. I am praying for God's wisdom to support and listen to them and God's strength for them in the soldiers life.
My family is doing well. Thanks to God. My wife and kids are busy with neighbors, school, extended family and church. We still miss each other much.
Please keep on praying for us!
I miss you all! Wishing you and your family God's blessings from Iraq,
Chaplain Jeff Pyun
