M.A. Systematic Theology Student Learning Outcomes

The Master of Arts: Systematic Theology curriculum is designed to enable the student to:


Core Curriculum

1. Conduct basic biblical interpretation and application with reference to the English Bible texts.

2. State a basic understanding of the primary elements of Christian theology.

3. Demonstrate basic knowledge, values and competencies  associated with  spiritual, worldview and leadership formation.

Systematic Theology Major

1. State and explain the task of theology, including the nature of the theological encyclopedia and the appropriate method for doing theology.

2. Critically analyze the development of major doctrines within the principal divisions of the Western theological tradition.

3. Explain the principal ideas advanced by major contributors to the Western theological tradition.

4. Critically analyze various theological problems and successfully argue for a position.

5. Demonstrate research and writing skills in the area of systematic theology.
