GRTS and Cornerstone University (Student Financial Services office) provide financial aid to students seeking further education in need of assistance. We also recognize students with exceptional ability in academics, leadership, and ministry. All students seeking consideration for grants and/or scholarships must file the Grand Rapids Theological Seminary Scholarship Application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on an annual basis.
For students begnning Fall 2008, the priority date for completing the Scholarship Application is March 31. For students beginning Spring 2009, the priority date is November 1. Scholarship and grant recipients will be notified by May 15 for the Fall and by December 15 for the Spring. Students wishing to receive financial assistance through the Federal Stafford Loan Programs must file the FAFSA.
Only classes taken during the fall, J-term and spring semesters are eligible for institutional aid. Summer courses are not eligible for institutional aid. Financial aid is awarded on a “rolling basis” until all funds are allocated. However, if the application is completed by the stated priority due date, the applicant will be considered for the maximum number of financial aid options.
In order to be considered for institutional and external scholarships and grants, New Students must be fully accepted for admission to GRTS as degree-seeking, and Returning Students must be in good academic standing. Both New and Returning Students must complete the following requirements:
