This course is designed to help students develop a biblical theology of mission that shapes how the church intersects with the 21st Century world. Students will consider the essence of missio Dei (the sending of God) and of missio ecclesiae (the sending of the church) as rooted in the biblical narrative. Students will also consider global trends and the implications of those trends for life and ministry. Students will examine the validity of traditional and emerging models for global missions in light of the above. Please click here for a class syllabus.

Dr. David A. Livermore will teach Global Impact at GRTS Connect.
Dr. Livermore is Professor of Intercultural Ministries at GRTS, co-founder of Intersect, and author of Serving with Eyes Wide Open: Doing Short-term Missions with Cultural Intelligence.
The purpose of this course is to support students toward delineating theoretical elements essential for thoughtful youth ministry. Students will approach these elements through theological, personal, missional, and contextual considerations for ministry to adolescents in western culture. Students will address this goal by investigating the following themes: 1) narrative theology, biblical authority, the purpose of theology; 2) personal transformation through spiritual practices; 3) the nature and role of context in ministry; and 4) the exploration of missional practices affecting youth ministry, including youth ministry's interaction with the church, evangelism, discipleship, and justice. Please click here for a course syllabus.
Professor Steven C. Argue will teach the Theology of Youth Ministry course at GRTS Connect. Steve Argue is a Professor of Youth Ministry at GRTS, co-founder of Intersect, and currently a doctoral student in the Higher, Adult, & Lifelong Education program at Michigan State University.
Both professors speak at conferences, consult and train at Youth Specialties, and write for Group Magazine, Youth Worker Journal, and The Journal of Student Ministries.
