
David Livermore, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the Global Learning Center at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, where he also teaches Intercultural Studies. In addition, Dave is a Visiting Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and a Sr. Research Consultant with the Cultural Intelligence Center in East Lansing. He is also Co-Founder of Intersect, an organization that provides leadership training and consulting to emerging leaders around the world.
Dave is widely published on cross-cultural leadership and global issues. His newly released book, Leading with Cultural Intelligence (AMACOM, Sept 2009) applies cultural intelligence to global executives. His book, Serving With Eyes Wide Open, was awarded the 2006 global book of the year from Outreach Magazine. His book, Cultural Intelligence: Improving Your CQ to Engage our Multicultural World applies cultural intelligence to Christian leaders in a diversity of contexts. Dave has contracts for three additional books that deal with helping leaders respond to global issues. Dave has been interviewed and referenced by major news sources such as Atlantic Monthly, CBS News, Christian Post, Christian Science Monitor, Christianity Today, The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
In addition to his regular teaching responsibilities, Dave averages 35 national and international speaking engagements annually, addressing an average of 7500 leaders a year. He has worked with leaders in 75 countries across the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe. He is an elder at his local church and serves on several other boards.
Dave and his wife Linda live in Grand Rapids, Michigan along with their two school-aged daughters Emily and Grace. Some of their favorite family activities include traveling, hiking, reading, eating Asian food, and walking to the local ice cream shop!
