Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Profile
Cultural clashes and the ability to get along with one another is becoming the seminal issue of our day. Ministry leaders in every context are being faced with the need to become more adept at interacting cross-culturally.
The
Global
Learning
Center , in partnership with faculty at
Michigan
State
University and
Nanyang
Technological
University in
Singapore , has developed an online assessment to provide you with personalized feedback on your cultural intelligence (CQ) for cross-cultural ministry. You will also receive comparison information that will allow you to compare yourself with others around the world. Feedback from those who have participated in the program indicates that the information is professionally useful and personally insightful. Some of the benefits include:
- The opportunity to compare the way you see yourself with the way other people around the world see themselves on a number of key capabilities that relate directly to cross-cultural work and ministry.
- The opportunity to compare the way you see yourself with the way others perceive you (All observer feedback will be averaged and no one will ever see individual observer responses).
- A personalized profile, which can help you develop action plans to enhance your ability to minister cross-culturally.
Upon registering for the CQ profile, you will complete an online questionnaire at your convenience (it takes 35-40 minutes) and find 5 people who know you well enough to complete an observer questionnaire for you (they can each complete it in about 15 minutes).
We’re just launching a pilot phase of this project. Eventually, we’ll provide the personalized profile reports immediately after the questionnaire input is submitted. During this first phase however, all the data is assessed and compiled individually by hand. As a result, during this first phase, at least 15 individuals are needed to complete the CQ profile.
